Sascha Hein commenced his training in dental technology in Bad Wörishofen, Germany where he graduated in 1997 from the Technical College II, Augsburg. He subsequently worked in a number of dental laboratories in Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. In 2001 he completed further studies in dental ceramics under Masahiro Kuwata in Tokyo, Japan. In 2004/05 he attended Master School in Freiburg, Germany where he graduated top of school and state. In 2007 Sascha Hein was inducted into the international Oral Design group by founder Willi Geller. Since 2010 he is also a member of the Bio-Emulation group where he currently serves as president together with Dr Javier Tapia Guadix from Madrid. From 2010 to 2013 he conducted scientific research at the University of Western Australia (department of Physics) with the aim to better understand the optical properties of natural teeth. He has authored numerous publications and lectures internationally. After twelve years in Perth, Western Australia he now lives in his home town of Bad Wörishofen in the south of Germany, where he operates Dentaltechnik Christ & Hein GmbH together with his business partner Wolfgang Christ.
